Mt. Cuba Center's internship program seeks to develop the next generation of environmental leaders.

Interns will learn the basics of native plant identification and ecological gardening while building real-world experience.

We have openings for four summer interns (juniors and seniors) and four year-long interns (recent graduates).

Summer Intern Program

This 12-week internship program is designed for college undergraduate students who are interested in exploring career options through hands-on experience. Summer internships available include Arboriculture, Ecological gardening, and Greenhouse and Research.

Year-Long Internship

Recent college grads with an interest in the environment can hone their skills and prepare for an entry-level position in the field of public horticulture and conservation. Year-long internships include Greenhouse Production, Native Plant Curation, Natural Lands and Public Engagement.

Each unique position is detailed on our 2017 Internship webpage.

Mt. Cuba Center, located in Hockessin, Delaware, is a premier botanical garden focusing on native plants and their ecosystems.  In addition to working side-by-side with our professional horticulturists, arborists and researchers, interns participate in educational programs including native plant identification, workshops, and field trips. Summer interns maintain a field notebook and year-long interns complete a project that will be presented to the staff at the end of their internship.
