Associate Professor, Department Chair
Chris Sass, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture. He also holds an appointment in the Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences program, advising students and serving on the program’s Steering Committee. Courses taught range from LA design studios and Water Management in the Urban Environment to Urban Forestry. In addition, he teaches and coordinates Professional Development courses for Landscape Architecture.
Research interests include urban forestry issues and urban stormwater systems. Sass is part of the Urban Forest Initiative at the University of Kentucky; he helped develop the Urban and Community Forestry Undergraduate Certificate and routinely works with non-profit groups such as Trees Louisville.
